In Swagelok Helsinki, our technical director Sami Juntunen works as a trainer, with 24 years of experience in instrumentation systems and Swagelok® products.

Tube Fitting Installation and tube bending Essentials (8h)

The objective of the Tube Fitting Installation and tube bending Essentials is to introduce the participants proper fittings installation and component selections. In addition, the course includes training in maintenance and problem solving to increase system reliability and efficiency.

The Basics of Tube Bending section provides participants with adequate understanding and knowledge of the "measure and bend" tube bending method. The training will utilize the Swagelok tube bender and each participant will do a practical exercise at 45-, 90- and 180-degree angles, utilizing various calculations in tube bending.

The topics covered in the course include:
• Tube selection and handling
• Different types of tube fittings
• Proper fitting installation
• Thread basics and installation

This training is intended for technicians, maintenance and installation personnel who need in-depth knowledge and hands-on exercises in both pipe bending theory and practice.

Valve Essentials (8h)

Safety is a key consideration when selecting, maintaining, or replacing valves. Learn to choose the right valves for your applications by identifying proper valve types and functions, understanding key features and construction, and identifying common issues. The right selection minimize order errors, risks of malfunctions, and repair costs.

The valve selection course provides answers to questions such as:
• How to choose the right valve for an application?
• How to identify the different types of valves, their function, and construction?
• How to perform proper installation, repair, maintenance, and troubleshooting?
• How to determine a leak and how to control it?
• How to interpret flow curve and pressure temperature (P / L) tables?
• How does safety play a key role in valve selection, installation and maintenance?
• What are the general terminologies for gas and liquid systems?

This training is intended for inspection, maintenance, and installation personnel who needs insights in maintaining reliable and efficient instrumentation systems and fault prevention.

Hose Essentials (8h)

After completing the course, participants will be able to solve hose problems, installation and storage. Proper hose selection can improve productivity, minimize wastes, operations downtime, environmental and personnel damage.

The topics covered in the course include:
• Learn how to identify a suitable hose and discuss different of hose options
• know-how on common hose terminology
• Describe a step-by-step hose installation
• The most common problematic situations with hose applications and the details to be taken into consideration during inspections
• List hose-related system improvements
• Basic hose storage, maintenance and service life information

This training is intended for inspection, maintenance, and installation personnel needing insights in maintaining reliable and efficient instrumentation systems and fault prevention.

Tube Fitting Installation Inspection Essentials (4h)

Proper inspection is instrumental in mitigating and minimizing risk of leakage. This course will teach students to identify correct tube system placement, correctly install Swagelok tube fittings, and troubleshoot other common fluid system mistakes.
