What is hydrogen?
Hydrogen is the most common element in the world, however it does not exist anywhere on Earth. Therefore, all hydrogen used could be produced.
Hydrogen has the most energy per unit mass of all fuels and burns completely emission-free. A kilogram of hydrogen contains almost three times as much energy as a kilogram of gasoline or diesel.
The density of hydrogen is very small, so its storage requires special systems. A small molecule tends to permeate even through steel.
In its gaseous form, it is stored at pressures up to 700 bar.
Liquefaction is also possible but requires a temperature of -253 degrees Celsius (°C).
